Press Release
Let My Vote Count
Alliance
August 20, 2015
|
GHANAIANS MUST RISE NOW
TO GET A NEW REGISTER!
Snap polls conducted by a team of Let My Vote
Count Alliance volunteers across the country
suggest that a huge majority of Ghanaians want a
new register and believe the 2016 general
elections will be bogus if we go in without a
new register.
They do not want an election where even before
the polls open one party knows it already has
opened a big gap on the rest because of ghost
votes it has in the bank which are resurrected
during counting.
The dangerous information we have is that the
leadership of the EC, led by Mrs Charlotte Osei,
has made an ungodly pact with the leadership of
the NDC, led by President John Mahama, to once
again steal the elections on behalf of the
ruling NDC. And, ask yourselves, can they
succeed without STL?
They understand that the electoral reforms being
pushed by the nation after the disputed 2012
elections are going to make it difficult to
steal and buy future elections.
So they have devised new ways. But before any
new way can happen the NDC knows they must have
the assurance that the over one million details
of illegal registrations inserted in the 2012
register are not disturbed. That is the only
reason why Aseidu Nketia has turned himself into
the Propaganda Secretary of the Electoral
Commission, jumping from one radio station to
another, screaming hoarse against the growing
calls for a new voters' register.
Part of this new diabolic plan for power is the
ongoing free membership drive of the NDC. Ask
yourselves why would a political party go
through the trouble of spending all this money
to do biometric registration of its members?
Biometric technology is a security control
measure. What is so special about party
membership that it must have such hi-tech
security features?
We know what the NDC and the EC are up to. We
know they want to steal the elections again. We
know they are determined not to give the people
a new, credible register. We know by their
actions they don't want peace in the country.
All they are interested in is power.
But the LMVCA is determined to protect our
democracy. We are determined to guard the
stability of our nation and to do so we need to
bring back integrity into the way elections are
conducted.
We are giving public notice with this press
release that we intend to mobilise tens of
thousands of Ghanaians nationwide to stand up
for their voting rights. To stand up and protect
the principle of One Ghanaian One Vote and we
will use every legitimate means available to
stop Mrs Osei and her deputy commissioners and
their corrupt people in their ICT Department
from allowing the NDC once again to take us to
the brink of civil unrest and conflict. Next
time none of us can predict if the anger of the
masses can be contained as Nana Akufo-Addo and
the NPP leadership, LMVCA and religious leaders
managed to do by persuading the people to put
their trust in the legal system for redress
after the stolen electoral verdict in 2012.
We must stand up now or forever be sorry.
Thank you

THE CASE FOR A
NEW VOTERS REGISTER
Release, August 18, Ghanadot -
A valid voters’ register is essential for free
and fair elections. The evidence that we are
presenting here today is overwhelming proof that
the 2012 Voters’ register is incurably flawed
and cannot be relied on for the 2016 elections.
This morning we presented our arguments and
evidence on this matter to the Electoral
Commission. We however deem it important to
share this with all Ghanaians. ".. .....More
