NPP Consults with PNC on New Voters Register

The General Secretary of the largest opposition party, NPP, has began what he terms consultative meeting with other political parties on the need for a new and fresh register as we approach the 2016 general elections.

In a meeting held at the national Headquarters of the People's National Convention Party (PNC), Kwabena Agyepong called on the party to support the call for a new register as it is the only way to restore confidence in the country’s electoral system.

The chief scribe of NPP said "a fresh registration will go a long way to rebuild public confidence in the electoral process" emphasizing that "this is essential for the successful conduct of a peaceful, free and fair election in 2016".

On his part, the General Secretary of the PNC, Mr. Bernard Mornah stated that, the visit was historical as this is the first of its kind that a General Secretary of another political party is visiting.

He stated that the PNC is committed to ensuring a more credible electioneering process. He assured that the matter will be discussed thoroughly at the National Executive Committee level of the party.

Kwabena Agyepong used the occasion to wish the party well as they prepare for their congress in October later this year.

Present were National and Constituency officers of the PNC.
