Lecture held to commemorate this year's June 4
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, June 5, Ghanadot - A public lecture has been held at the Accra International Conference Centre to mark the 30th anniversary of the June 4th uprising.

The June 4th Uprising was a military revolution by young army officers who overthrew senior army officers of the Supreme Military Council in what was said to be a house cleaning exercise.

The June 4th coup was expected to end all military coup d'etats.

Thirty years down the line, Mrs. Rawlings whose husband and former president, Jerry John Rawlings was liberated by the uprising, addressed cadres, and teeming supporters of the NDC at the Accra International Conference on the principles of probity and accountability, ideals underpinning the June 4th movement.
Attorney general and Minister of Justice, Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, has served strong notice that even NDC ministers could be put before court if they dare dip their hands into public funds.

The first female Attorney General of the republic issued the warning to thousands of June 4 enthusiasts and NDC loyalists who gathered at the Accra International Conference Centre to commemorate the thirty years of the revolution that brought former President Jerry John Rawlings to power.

In what appears to be a veiled response to attacks on the Mills led administration over the BNI handling of former chief of staff, Mr. Kwadwo Mpiani, Mrs. Iddrisu said no one in Ghana is above the law.

The Attorney General told the full to capacity conference center that her tenure would see swift prosecution of all former state official whom cases of wrong doing have been made.

Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu was however quick to add that she would not hesitate to equally prosecute any NDC minister of state found to have dipped his hands in the national kitty.
