Accra, April 13, Ghanadot - The
immediate Ex-President of Ghana, H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor
has condemned the state of vendetta in Ghana’s politics,
which he noted is retarding country’s progress.
He has therefore urged Ghanaians to forge ahead as one
people, put an end to politics of retaliation to move the
economy of the nation forward.
This was contained in a speech read for him by the former
Minister of Works and Housing, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar
Saddique, at a ceremony to honour him (Kufuor) by the people
of Mfantsiman in the Central Region.
The ceremony, organised by the
First Castle Promotions Award Foundation,
was to recognize Mr Kufuor's leadership as a two-term
president of Ghana.
Mr. Kufuor reiterated that the vindictiveness that has
characterized politics in Ghana is not healthy for her
fragile democracy.
He reminded fellow politicians that no "condition
is permanent" and
that they should be bound by the
fact that "government goes and a
government comes." He also
cautioned them to be mindful that their utterances and deeds,
while in power, had power and therefore
were very important.
Former President Kufuor urged Ghanaians to bury their past
so that the nation could move
forward to ensure an economic, socio-cultural and political
stability.
He noted that the developed countries have a sustainable
economy because they pay ample attention to their youth and
that the needs of the youth in the country should be
paramount to ensure a vibrant economy.
