By Awudu Salami Sule, Ghanadot

Accra, Sept 25, Ghanadot - In fulfillment of its Africa’s corporate social responsibility activities dubbed “Read Better, Write Better and Communicate Better”, Stratcomm Africa, a communication management company has donated assorted children books worth GHC 400 to the Adabraka Atukpai Stool Authority for distribution to basic schools in the Adabraka community in Accra.

The books were made up of children’s fiction, dictionaries and literature books.

Presenting the books, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of stratcomm, Ms Esther Cobbah said, the donation was to instill the habit of reading and writing in pupils in the basic schools.

She noted that, without healthy reading habits, school children would not be able to develop a store of vocabulary to enhance their skills of communication and message delivery.

Ms Cobbah revealed that, the contribution was another illustration of Stratcomm Africa’s commitment to the goal of eradicating illiteracy in the country and promoting child and youth development.

For his part, the Marketing Manager of Stratcomm Africa, Mr Kwabena Ekremet stated that, in every field of knowledge, reading is the key to understanding.

He said, Stratcomm contribution to the children’s acquisition of this habit (reading), only encourage their understanding of the world around them.

The Chief of Adabraka, Nii Adjabeng, who received the books, intimated that his outfit would soon set up an educational fund to promote education in the area.

He however expressed gratitude to Stratcomm Africa for their donation, adding that, the books would promote reading and writing in the area.

In June this year, Stratcomm Africa as part of its 15th anniversary celebrations organized a reading and writing clinic with the Kanda Cluster of Schools, where staff of Stratcomm Africa volunteered to teach pupils in Junior High Schools reading skills, proper pronunciation and essay.

Study tours and quiz competitions were also organized and winning schools and their students received book prizes.
