A Nurse installed Queen mother of Gomoa Abrekum

Gomoa Abrekum(C/R), Dec. 28, GNA - A 50-year old Ghanaian Nurse based in New Jersey in the United States of America was on Tuesday installed Queen mother of Gomoa Abrekum near Apam under the stool name Nana Ekua Otwuwoa II.


Nana Otwuwoa known in private as Ms Beatrice Benyako succeeded her grandmother, Nana Ekua Otwuwoa I who abdicated some few months ago due to old age.


According to tradition and customs of the area, the queen mother becomes Adontenhen of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area.


Addressing the people after taking the oath of office, Nana Otwuwoa called for unity and co-operate among the people to accelerate development of the town.
She said education was key to development therefore; her priority would be to help reverse the fallen standard of education in the area.


Nana Otwuwoa appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) and Gomoa District Assembly to assist the town complete a four-unit school block being undertaken by the people but abandoned due to lack of funds.


She called on the people in the traditional area to forget the past, bury their differences and contribute their quota towards development of the area.
