The African Development Foundation and the 2nd Annual Dinner, “Touch your Dreams”

NYC, Ghanadot- On Saturday June 16, 2007 The African Development Foundation held a fundraiser dinner at the Marriott Marquis, NY.

The goal for the 2007 ADF fundraising dinner was to raise $1 million toward building a designated sports field, as well as a baseball academy to help make Ghana a center for baseball development in West Africa.

To begin the campaign, the foundation kicked-off this memorable and emotional evening with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at

President and founder of ADF George Ntim

7:00 p.m. bringing together an array of celebrities and dignitaries from The United States and Africa.

The event was called “Touch your dreams.” There were many guests from all walks of life who attended the event in support of the ADF, including superstars from Major League Baseball, such as Darryl Strawberry, Carlos Beltran, Willie Randolph and, U.S Ambassador to Ghana Pamela Bridgewater.

President and founder of ADF George Ntim spoke to the guests saying, “We are so excited about this year’s honorees. They include: Jonnie “Dusty” Baker, Al Jackson, Reggie Smith, Bob Watson, and Mariano Rivera. Many of them helped to improve the lives of children in Africa, and who have done much to further the causes of ADF.”

The evening was full of joy and excitement as a live band played music and people mingled and enjoyed the occasion as silent and live auctions with unique sports memorabilia went on.

The ADF is an international non-profit organization, created to garner goodwill and strengthen relationships between The United States and Africa through youth-oriented initiatives. It was founded in 2003 and its objective is to provide African youths with computer training, health-related resources, and recreational outlet. With the help from concerned individuals, organizations and corporate sponsors, we are proud to serve disadvantaged African youths that are eager to learn and deserve the pleasures of recreation.
