Henry Kwadwo Djaba and others to be awarded by GFA
August 16, 2009

Accra, Aug 16 - Works and contributions of past chairmen of the FA and the Executive Council are to be honoured. The Ghana Football Association on August 26 will decorate all past heads for the "their hard work and selfless contribution" to the sport body. A tall list of heads right from the formation of the FA in 1957 are to be decorated when the 2009 GFA Awards are held in Accra at the Alisa Hotel.

Henry Kwadwo Djaba Snr, who hails from Somanya in the Yilo Krobo District is a retired international businessman and life patron of Abuakwa Susubiribi. During his term of office, he worked tirelessly, motivating and inspiring the Black Stars into stardom. They inspired several outstanding players including one of Africa's outstanding, finest and most talented goal-keeper, Mr Robert Mensah of blessed memory. He ensured that the players had the best equipment, jerseys, football boots, training and coaching. It is befitting that his services and contribution has finally been recognised.

The list includes eight past chairmen, some of whom are deceased.
