Inviting you to Home Coming in Ghana

You are probably well aware of efforts toward Homecoming celebrations in Accra this coming August.

The goal is to bring everyone in the diaspora together to Accra, to coincide with the Homowo celebrations.

The idea is to encourage us all to begin to reconnect, by repatriation at least by frequent visits, with home.

The grand idea is that raising the level of connection, as such. will create some good in the short and long run.

The theme for this year's Homecoming celebrations is UNITY / KAKE PAIM / EKOME FEIMOR.  It will be marked by 5 main events, under auspices of the umbrella organization - Wemblor :-

1.) We encourage everyone to plan to be in Ada for the Asafo Tufiam festival. If you or anyone you know has the precise date, please post it on the Wemblor website - Korlelagoon@wemblor.org

2.) Next, a day long symposium on business opportunities in Ghana - on one of the following dates :-August 19th, 20th or 21st. (Exact date and venue to be posted on the website.)

3.) Gala dance in Accra. this will be on Saturday the 23rd of August.

4.) Interdenominational church service at Dodowa. this will be Sunday, August 31st.

5.) Finally, following the church service, there will be a GaDangme summit, probably at the same venue as the church service.

Organizing these events is still work in progress and we will be most grateful if
you can identify one event or more that you can help us organize well. Any one, two or all 5 events.

You may send your contribution of ideas / suggestions to the Wemblor website through the e-address: Korlelagoon@wemblor.org

Before you even begin to send such contributions, please spend a few seconds at the Wemblor website:-
WemBlor GadangmeHomeComing. You will notice the broad and practically empty outline, inviting your contribution of ideas and listings to the site.

So, if you know of any businesses in the Gadangme areas - b&b / hotel operators, taxi services, restaurant owners and you can get their contact information we will list them in the advertisement section
- free of charge this time.

If you or anyone you know have intention of organizing anything for the Homecoming e.g. family reunion, townhall meetings, a beach party, jama precession, ect. we will post the date and time and venue on the Wemblor website
for you.

Also, as you can very well imagine, organizing these events require time, effort and money. God being so good we have lots of volunteers who are doing a marvelous job, often, using their own resources in addition to their contributions of time and effort.

Anything else you, personally or on behalf of a group, you wish to contributes toward the success of Homecoming - 2014 will be appreciated and well noted. Just send it to Korlelagoon@wemblor.org

Your monetary contributions will be greatly appreciated. We accept anything large or small. Just click the button on the top left of the home page of the web site and give as freely as you may (some day soon) receive.

The website address is WemBlor GadangmeHomeComing

CitiFM, July 1, Ghanadot - “No. That (appearance payment) has become part of it and it’s nearly normal. That was the smallest problem. But everything kept stacking up over the whole month. And it’s certainly not spent on hotels, flights, the squad and the preparations. ”......More

FIRM REBUTTAL TO SNEAKY ARTICLE

Commentary, July 01, Ghanadot - Currently, it has become commonplace (especially in Ghana) for all kinds of people to say all kinds of things and behave in any kind of manner....all with impunity and a smug arrogance. Sadly, the internet lends itself to sneak attacks that might go undiscovered for months.....Perhaps, we all should share some of the blame for this ridiculous state of affairs; for we have been probably too tolerant and possibly too discerning in the face of blatant mediocrity.. .......More
