PRESS STATEMENT
AKUFO-ADDO'S OFFICE
June 27, 2012
AKUFO-ADDO'S OFFICE REACTS TO
KIMATHI AND NANA DOKUA WEDDING STORY
The attention of the office of Nana Akufo-Addo, the New
Patriotic Party (NPP) 2012 Presidential Candidate, who
is currently touring the Upper West Region ahead of the
December elections, has been drawn to a publication in
the Al Hajj newspaper on Tuesday, 26th June, 2012,
alleging that Kimathi Agyeman-Rawlings, son of the
former first couple, is set to marry Nana Akufo-Addo's
daughter, Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo.
We wish to place on record that the publication is an
outright fabrication, that there is no truth whatsoever
in this story. The printing of this falsehood is yet
another example in the series of malicious lies and
fabrications that the NDC leaning media continues to
churn out against Nana Akufo-Addo and his family in an
attempt to distract the public from the NDC's failures.
Nana Dokua has confirmed to her father that there is no
truth whatsoever in the story. In addition, the office
of ex-President Rawlings and Mr. Kimathi Agyeman-Rawlings
have stated that there is absolutely no liaison and the
story is mischievous.
We would hope that the Ghanaian media, in the interest
of truth, public discourse and public decency will
desist from printing scurrilous lies and stop involving
the children of public figures in their crude attempts
at political mudslinging
…..Signed……
Herbert Krapa

allAfrica, June 25, Ghanadot - "The
Ghanaian Parliament has a law which says that before you can

of these Nigerian traders in Ghana, deal in small things,
such as CDs, videos, cassettes. So for you to say bring
$300,000 before you can set up a petty business, is a bit
hypocritical. This has been discussed at the Presidential
