Press Release
Office of Nana Akufo-Addo
August 29, 2014
PRESS STATEMENT BY GREATER ACCRA NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY
CONSTITUENCY SECREATARIES, ON THE ONE YEAR OF THE
SUPREME COURT VERDICT ON ELECTION PETITION
Today marks exactly one year in the darkest history
of our country, when the highest court of our land
the Supreme Court decided to corrupt the
constitutional and electoral integrity of our
constitution with the kind of counterfeit verdict
they gave when our 2012 Presidential Candidate Nana
Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, Dr. Mamudu Bawumia, the
running mate and Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey, the
then Chairman of the New Partriotic Party invoked
the original jurisdiction of the Supreme Court to
give proper effect and meaning to our electoral
laws.
The crust of the Supreme Court case was what the
petitioners presented as follows:
1. Over voting,
2. Voting without biometric verification,
3. Absence of the signature of the presiding
officer,
4. Duplicate serial numbers, that is to say
occurrence of the same serial numbers on pink sheets
for two different polling stations,
5. Duplicate polling station codes, that is to say
occurrence of different results of pink sheets for
polling stations with the same polling station
codes,
6. Unknown polling stations, that is to say results
recorded for polling stations that are not part of
26,002 polling stations provided by the second
respondent in the petition.
Despite the overwhelming evidence at the disposal of
the Supreme Court, ‘SHALL’ was no longer IMPERATIVE
or MANDATORY but rather DISCRETIONARY. Today is also
a day when we were told that OVER-VOTING no longer
existed but rather OVER STUFFING and finally a day
when we were advised by the Supreme Court to resolve
electoral disputes at the polling stations without
invoking their jurisdiction come 2016.
Despite this pain caused us, and the extreme anger
hatched by most Ghanaians, Nana Addo came to the
fray to calm all Ghanaians and appeal to all and
sundry to accept the verdict of the Supreme Court.
He, Nana Addo, added that even in our
disappointment, pride could be taken in the way we
conducted ourselves and yet again the fact that NPP
has again led the way in deepening Ghana’s
democracy. On this fateful day, not to remind us of
our sorrow, we salute all Ghanaians.
Now, what do we see in Ghana: poor educational
policies resulting in very prolonged teachers’
strikes, poor governance, wanton corruption, extreme
economic mismanagement and poor fiscal policies and
ruling the country by propaganda resulting in
extreme hardships and demonstrations upon
demonstrations. Yet the President of Ghana, H. E.
John Mahama says and continues to say YENNTIE OBIARA.
Thank God there is a way forward. On Sunday, 31st
August 2014 NPP super-delegates will select 5 of 7
presidential candidates one of whom will be elected
on 18th October 2014 to represent the NPP. The
grassroots cry for one particular candidate who has
been loyal to the party and has served the party
since the 1990s. He has stood on the ticket of the
party on two occasions.
We the Greater Accra Regional NPP Constituency
Secretaries Group APPEAL TO ALL THE SUPER DELEGATES
to give an EMPHATIC VICTORY to this personality come
Sunday, 31st August 2014, to send strong signal to
NDC that GHANA is tired of the extreme mismanagement
of the country and that we simply want CHANGE.
Thank you.
Long live NPP.
Long live Ghana.
Kukrudu Eshi Rado Rado

Dear Lord, forgive our
foolish ways
Graphic, Aug 28, Ghanadot - Managing the national
economy is similar to running our individual homes. The
government uses the money it gets from our taxes and
other income to build roads, schools, hospitals and the
like and to promote the earning capacity of the nation.
If what we earn from our cocoa, gold and other exports
are not sufficient to import the inputs for our
factories, drugs, vehicles etc., the nation goes into
debt. The way out is to curb our imports and increase
our exports.. .......More
