New CEPS system becomes
operational Monday
Accra, April 3, GNA – The new version of the Ghana Customs
Management System (GCMA-2), a versatile automated system for
processing customs declarations, customs regimes and payment,
goes into operation in the early hours of Monday following the
completion of its installation.
In order to facilitate the migration to the GCMS2, the old
system GCMA-1, would be shut down from 2200 hours on Saturday to
midnight on Sunday, a statement issued by the Customs, Excise
and Preventive Service on Friday said.
The statement signed by Ms Annie Anipa, Assistant Commissioner,
Public Relations, said the installation was collaboration
between CEPS and GCNET.
The statement said the business community and stakeholders,
particularly those who transacted business with CEPS at Aflao,
Elubo, Paga and Kulungugu border stations were requested to note
that contingency procedures should be deployed for processing of
declarations.
These procedures would involve manual processing of
declarations.
These contingency arrangements, however, shall not affect Tema,
Takoradi and Kotoka International Airport.
The statement said challenges that may arise during the period
of migration and thereafter should be addressed to: Assistant
Commissioner IT, CEPS Headquarters, Room 1A or 35, Telephone
021-665115 or GCNet hotline 054-4330191-5
