President John Evans Atta Mills will be paying a four-day visit
to the Upper East and West Regions this week. The visit is
scheduled between May 27 and 30.
According to the presidential spokesperson Mahama Ayariga, the
president will be making major policy announcements on the
development of the two regions.
“During his stay in the 2 regions the President will meet with
various chiefs including the Bawku Naaba, opinion leaders,
public servants and party activists.”
The statement said the president will also be inspecting

and people in Wa and Bolgatanga.
The two regions gave the president substantial votes in last
year’s elections.
In the presidential run-off last December, then candidate Mills

compared to his rival Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP who got only
117,470 votes representing 34.45%.

constituted 62.32% of the total votes cast while his contender,
Nana Addo managed 81,566, which was 37.68% of valid votes cast.
The visits could therefore be seen as a thank you to the people
and an assurance that they have not been forgotten and that
