Nkrumah is the most popular black man in
Africa-Pratt

Accra, Sept 14, Ghanadot - The
Managing Editor and Convention People’s Party (CPP)
activist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. Has described Ghana’s first
president, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as the “most popular black
person in Africa.”
Speaking on Peace FM, Mr. Pratt said, Dr. Nkrumah is without
doubt, one of the most influential socialist thinkers in the
world. He also equated Nkrumah to the likes of some leading
political figures and revolutionary thinkers like Karl Marx
and Lenin..
“Even non-Nkrumaists acknowledge his significance. Osagyefuo
Kwame Nkrumah is the most popular black person in Africa.
“Nkrumah is still the largest looming figure in Ghanaian
politics. There’s no politician in Ghana like Osagyefuo
Nkrumah… when the names of people who have positively
affected society are recalled, Nkrumah is part. He is cast
in the stature of Lenin, Karl Marx.”
He said, Nkrumah’s legacy cannot be limited to only the CPP
and the PNC, adding that "what Osagyefuo left behind is
confidence…the confidence of the black man in himself,
self-esteem…that we can do it, that we’re not slaves and
cannot be slaves. That is the biggest legacy of Nkrumah and
not an organization."
Mr. Pratt, who is also one of the members of the planning
committee of Nkrumah’s centenary celebrations, pointed out
that there are a considerable number of people who feign
some desirable or publicly approved attitude of Nkrumaism,
but are not true Nkrumaists.
“There are many people in Ghana who say they believe in
Nkrumah, but they are being fanciful. They’ve no belief in
the works and ideals of Osagyefuo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.”
