Otumfuo pays courtesy call on President Mills

Accra, March 30, Ghanadot - lkThe Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has paid a courtesy call on the President, John Evans Atta Mills with a call on him to be courageous and bold in leading the country.


Otumfuo's made the statement at the Castle, Osu, the seat of government, on Monday morning.


The Asantehene also congratulated him on his election victory and assumption of office as president.


He reminded the president of the expectations of the ordinary Ghanaian, including peace, security and national development and urged him to endeavour to fulfill his campaign promises to the electorate.


Otumfuo Osei Tutu officially informed the government of a programme for the celebration of his 10th anniversary since ascending the Golden Stool as Asante King, and invited the President to a durbar in Kumasi at the end of April.

President Mills was thankful for Otumfuo's visit, and assured him that he was working diligently to meet the expectations of Ghanaians and promised he would ensure security for all.

Otumfuo was also scheduled to pay courtesy calls on ex-President Jerry Rawlings and J.A. Kufuor before returning to Kumasi, the Regional of the Ashanti Region.
