Government to review findings of Wuaku Commission
By Awudu Salami Sule, Ghanadot

Accra, Sept 25, Ghanadot - The Member of Parliament for Tamale south and Minister of Communications, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu has assured the people in the Northern Region that plans were far advance to review the findings of the Wuaku Commission, headed by Justice I.N.K. Wuaku, which was set up by the previous government to investigate the murder of the late Ya-Na Yakubu Andani and 40 of his kinsmen at his palace in Yendi.

According to Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the decision by the government to review the work of the Wuaku Commission was to provide justice for the victims and also promote lasting peace in the area.

“After almost 8 years of the gruesome murder of the overlord of Dagbon and forty of his kinsmen, nobody has been brought to book and that is why we are going to review the work of the Wuaku Commission to find the killers and let them face the full rigours of the law”, he explained.

The Minister who was answering questions from the press said, under the leadership of President Mills, no perpetrator of criminal conduct will get away with it, adding that the government is poised to discourage the culture of impunity in the region to pave way for development.

“Under the leadership of President Mills, government will not encourage the culture of indiscipline in the society but will ensure that the rule of law works to facilitate patriotism and nationalism”, he assured.

Mr Iddrisu revealed that, the government would always take the appropriate decisions to deal with issues of national security, without taking into consideration one’s political affiliations, ethnic background, religion or race.

He said it is against this background that the President had directed the security sub committee to look into issues if injustice perpetrated against people in Yendi, Bawku, Gushegu and elsewhere in the country, to enable the government address them appropriately.

There are kingmakers and they are not kings; why we celebrate Nkrumah

Review, Sept 20, Ghanadot - What we forget about Ghana we will remember in the visions of the “Big Six,” Nkrumah included; but what we forget about Africa, we will remember foremost in the work and vision of one man: Kwame Nkrumah. This makes Nkrumah an exceptional leader. ..
