National Service secretariat releases allowance for Personnel
By Awudu Salami Sule, Ghanadot

Accra, Dec 20, Ghanadot -The Ghana National Scheme has released the October allowance for all service personnel in the country and has promised to pay the November arrears very soon.

This was confirmed to Ghanadot by the National Director of the Scheme,Mr Vincent Senam Kuagbenu in an exclusive interview. He said, the secretariat had payed the October allowance and it is in the process of paying the November arrears.

Mr Kuagbenu has therefore urged all service personnel to visit their regional and district national service coordinators for their allowance.

He however noted that, per the rule that guides the affairs of the scheme, service personnel who started their service after October 15 would not be liable to get their allowance for October but rather November.

"We are strictly going to enforce this law and that money will be sent back to the chest of government for developmental programmes" he added.

The National Service Scheme has come under intense pressure for a month now after failing to stick to its promise of making prompt payment of allowances to national service personnel across the country.

But Mr Kuagbenu has promised to end that bad situation. "We have put in place the necessary structures that will ensure the smooth payment of national service personnel allowance at the end of every month.

He however urged the service personnel to work in the national interest in their various sectors to promote development.
