DCE Advises Moslems to be patient
Wenchi (B/A) Jan. 4, GNA - Madam Ibrahim Bintu Farizana,
Wenchi District Chief Executive, has advised Moslems who
could not perform this year's Hajj to take heart and
continue to serve and have faith in Allah.
Madam Farizana gave the advice when she joined Moslems in
prayers at Wenchi to celebrate the Eid Ul Adha festival.
She told them that since they have faith in Allah they must
take consolation that He would provide them with the best in
life.
Madam Farizana called on Moslem parents to support the
education of their children to ensure that they grow to
become responsible leaders to promote the Islamic religion.
The DCE expressed regret about the attitude of some Moslems,
who in the past denied their girls formal education and
rather encouraged them into early marriages.
"Such negative attitudes have really affected the lives and
development of promising Muslim women", she said.
Madam Farizana reminded Moslems that the celebration of the
Eid Ul Adha festival signified the importance of offering
sacrifice to Allah and advised them to render selfless
service to enhance the development of the country.
She urged them to live above reproach and eschew negative
practices that could make the public to speak against the
religion, stressing the importance for them to promote love,
unity, peace and understanding.
Madam Farizana cautioned Muslim youth to be disciplined, law
abiding and to respect persons in authority so they would be
respected and not to be associated with hooliganism and
lawlessness.
She called on communities to set aside special days for tree
planting to maintain the country's green and fertile land to
boost agricultural productivity.
Alhaji Adam Swala, Chief Imam, led in prayers for the
President J.A. Kufuor and members of government for the
sustenance of the prevailing love, peace and stability to
accelerate national development.
