CPP to spring surprise in 2008
Election-Keelson
Koforidua, (E/R), Aug 7, Ghanadot/GNA-
The Convention People’s Party (CPP), would spring a surprise
in the 2008 Election and other political parties should not
underrate the CPP.
Mr Richmond Keelson, Communication Director of Campaign Team
of Dr Paa Kwasi Nduom, CPP flag bearer for the 2008
Election, said this in an interview with GNA in Koforidua.
He cautioned other political parties, especially the New
Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
that the CPP was ready to wrest power from the NPP.
Mr Keelson called on CPP supporters to work hard to enable
the party to win the polls.
He said the CPP was registering the youth in the country,
especially first time voters as party members and issuing
them with party cards.
Mr Keelson said the exercise was successful claiming that
the party had registered thousands of new members.
He observed that in the first time in many years, Ghanaians
were queuing in there numbers to register to become CPP
members and said the CPP would occupy the new presidential
palace in January 2009.
Mr Keelson said although the NPP and NDC were solid on the
ground, the CPP would not be deterred but would go all out
to win people to their side.
He said the party’s campaign message was going down with
Ghanaians resulting in many people from the 10 regions of
the country joining the CPP.
Mr Keelson advised prospective voters to register in the
ongoing re-opening registration exercise to enable them to
vote for Dr Nduom as the next president to change the
economic fortunes of the country.
He said on 21st September all registered members of the
party would converge at Winneba where the CPP campaign would
be officially launched to coincide with the birth day of Dr
Kwame Nkrumah, founder of the CPP and first President of
Ghana.
