Suame Magazine gets auto
diagnostic centre
Kumasi, Nov. 8,
Ghanadot/GNA – The Suame Magazine Industrial Development
Organisation (SMIDO) has established an auto diagnostic
centre at the Suame magazine.
The centre, which would be inaugurated by the first week of
December, is expected to enrol ten students to begin an auto
diagnostic engineering programme.
Mr Aweeba Azongo, Consultant to SMIDO, who made this known
to reporters at the end of a capacity building workshop for
the Executive Council members of SMIDO in Kumasi on Friday,
said the inauguration of the centre formed part of the
deployment of modern technology at the Suame Magazine.
The workshop is aimed at equipping the members with the
necessary skills to enable them to implement the second
phase of the Suame Magazine development project, which is
being done by SMIDO with financial support from the BUSAC
fund.
Under the project, SMIDO would launch the Suame Magazine
Automatics Institute, organise technological and business
development services fair to bring together all the
technological products and business development services
relevant to the industrial development of Magazine.
This would enable them to identify dialogue partners to
support the deployment of modern technology and best
business practices at “magazine”.
An investment conference would also be organised to bring
together all the dialogue partners to define a common
investment project, unique to the operations of the Suame
Magazine.
Mr Azongo said, now that all the necessary structures had
been established at the Magazine, what was needed was to
build the skills of the leadership of SMIDO to enable them
to implement the development initiatives under the second
phase.
Mr George Amankwaa, President of SMIDO thanked the BUSAC
fund for the continued financial support, which was helping
the industrial development of Magazine.
He said the advocacy training programme had helped sharpen
their skills and urged members to continue researching to
gain more insight into new technologies to help their
businesses.
