Catto wins Charity Golf

Tema, Nov. 26, GNA-Young Golfer, Nicollo Catto returned a net score of 64, to win the Rotary Club International/Canada Water Development Committee Open Golf championship played at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday.


Eduardo Castangna took the second position with 74 net, Nana Antwi-Boasiako placed third with 75 net, while E.O. Donkor took the fourth position with 76 net.


Esi Cobbina, won the Ladies event with 67 net, Adelaide Owusu-Adjapong placed second with 68 net, while Florence Etwi-Barimah came third with 71 net.


About 50 golfers participated in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition, which was aimed at raising funds to support Ghana's Guinea-worm Eradication Project and the Damongo District Water Project.


It was jointly sponsored by Canadian Volunteer Agency(CUSO), Rotary International, Forward Motion Development Limited and Carter Centre.


Mr Russell Coombs, Chief Executive Officer of Forward Motion Development Limited said his outfit would do everything possible to ensure that some of the deprived communities in the country, enjoy potable water.


The Tema Country Golf Club would round off the year's activities with the Elections Championship on December 23 and the Afariwaah Invitational on December 30.
