Let us
protect orphans in society - Rev. Kwei
Accra, Nov. 25, GNA - Reverend Godsend Kwei, Pastor
of Tema Community One Apostolic Church on Saturday
appealed to Christians to care for orphans in
society as part of their Christian duties.
He said "There are three categories of people in
society so dear to God who should not be ignored by
Christians. They are orphans, widows and the poor."
Rev Kwei made the appeal at a fundraising ceremony
organised by Orphanage International Ministry (OIM),
a Christian non-governmental organization aimed at
leading orphans in society to Jesus Christ.
Rev Samuel Afari, Founder of OIM said the
fundraising was to generate funds to organise
Christmas parties for orphans in the country on
Sunday December 10.
He said orphans who came into contact with OIM were
taught to be spiritually and morally confident and
self-supporting to fit into society.
Rev Afari said OIM was currently supporting 40
orphans in schools nationa-wide.
Mrs Nana Abena Kwakyi, Director of Morning Star
School in Accra, reminded Ghanaians that it was more
blessed to give than to receive.
Certificate of recognition were given to three
orphans two of them in tertiary institutions and a
caterer.
