Stephen Ntim to join NPP race?
By Kweku Asare, ACCRA

News coming into Ghanadot Offices in Accra says Mr Stephen Ntim, former National 1st Vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) intends to join the long list of his party’s Presidential hopeful in the December National Delegates Congress.

The candidate who is elected will represent the party in the 2008 Presidential election.

The sources maintained that Mr Ntim will be filing his nomination during the period. The filing of nominations began on September 22, 2007 and so far about 11 hopefuls have picked up their forms.

Political pundits say Mr Ntim’s decision to join the flagbearership race might have come out of a push by top party guns who asked that he stand up and be counted.
Top party officials including Regional and Constituency Chairman said he has been most supportive of the party grassroot base

Again Mr Ntim’s name has kept coming up in a number of discussions and polls, especially at party levels throughout the country.

Mr Ntim is the former National 1st Vice Chairman and polled 48% of the total valid votes cast in 2005 to elect a National Chairman.

Ghanadot’s efforts to get Mr. Ntim to comment on the news are ongoing with the man very tight-lipped on the matter.
