Starlets gear up for UK tourney

Accra, Oct 30, Ghanadot/GNA - The National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets will on Thursday commence preparation towards an international friendly match against the under-18 side of England.


The match, fixed for November 20 is at the invitation of the English FA following Ghana's impressive performance at the last Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) Under 17 tournament in South Korea in which the Starlets were among the last four.


The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has therefore released a list of 18 players for training and camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram.


The invited players include Joseph Addo and Isaac Donkor - Sekondi Hasaacas, Francis Boadi - Great Olympics, Abdulai Seidu - Samreka, Enoch Adu - Liberty Professionals, Abeiku Quansah - Windy Professionals, Tetteh Nortey - African United, Paul Addo - Fair Point, Ransford Osei - Kessben, Prince Gyimah - Berekum Arsenals, Baba Sampana - Shelter Force, Eric Opoku - Corners Babies, Meisuna Alhassan - Wise Fighters.


The rest are Philip Bempong and Abdul Naza Alhassan - Maxbees, Ishmael Yartey and Richard Mpong - Gamba All Blacks, Daniel Opare and Sadick Adams - AshantiGold, Robert Dabuo - Wa All Stars and the only foreign player, Kelvin Bossman of Reading (England).
