Black Stars finish year on 28th spot

Accra, Dec 19, GNA – Ghana’s Black Stars finished the year as the 28th best football nation in the world.

The latest Federation of International Football Associations’ (FIFA) ranking confirmed the position for the African World Cup debutantes, who made the round of 16 with victories over Czech Republic and the USA.

The team maintained the position in spite of their recent victories chalked over Japan and South Korea when FIFA released its Coca Cola end of year ranking late Monday.

The West Africans became the biggest movers in the ranking after the World Cup when they moved 23 places up from the previous 48 position to 25.

In November, the Stars dropped four places after a one all drawn game with Australia.
