New SWAG executives thank sponsors/patrons

Accra, Dec 27, GNA – The incoming Executive Committee of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has thanked and congratulated corporate organisations which supported the Association in diverse ways on their cooperation and support in the past years.


In a statement issued in Accra on Wednesday, the incoming President, Mr Ackah Anthony said it was imperative for him and his team to recognize and appreciate the efforts of companies and personalities, whose support had facilitated the implementation of programmes of the Association over the years.


It paid glowing tribute to State Insurance Corporation (SIC) Akosombo Textiles Limited, Nestle Ghana Limited, Western Union, and other corporate entities which had propped up the Association in its endeavour to recognize and reward deserving sports personalities.


The statement also congratulated the Patrons of the Association, particularly Mr Walter Esposito, Mr Ray Quarcoo, Mr Assad Mallah, Mr Amarkai Amartefio, Dr Sam Jonah, Madam Theodosia Okoh, Mr Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, Nana Kumi Gyamfi I, Mr E.T. Quaeshie and Oheneba Charles for their unflinching support.


It called for the continued support of its corporate partners and urged other organizations to get on board and support the Association, adding that the new executive committee would introduce many innovative functions that would improve sports reportage and strengthen the developmental base of sports in the country.
It wished the management and staff of its supportive partners and the patrons a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
