President Mills, COSUA congratulate Ghana Black Stars
Masahudu Ankiilu Kunateh, Ghanadot

Accra, June 9, Ghanadot - President of Ghana, H.E Professor John Evans Atta Mills has congratulated the senior national team, Black Stars on their last Sunday’s victory over Mali in Bamako in a 2010 World Cup/Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.


Second half strikes from Kwadwo Asamoah and Matthew Amoah powered theStars to a 2-0 victory over the Eagles to keep alive their World Cup ambitions.

The congratulatory message by President Mills was contained in a
statement issued and signed by Mahama Ayariga, Presidential
Spokesperson.

“By their victory they have put Ghana in good stead as the country
works towards qualification for the World Cup.

“Discipline, hard work and love for country will ensure our
qualification for South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup,” President Mills
added.

The Black Stars lead the pack in Group D on six points, Benin follow
on three points, with Sudan and Mali in that order with a point each.

The Stars will play the Desert Hawks of Sudan in Omdurman on June 20.Similarly, the Coalition of Supporters Union of Africa (COSUA) also
lauded the Stars on their 2-0 victory over their malian counterparts.
It says the victory, significant by all standards, must mark a
decisive step in the Stars' qualification for the two major tourneys.
