Ghana appeals Rabiu Ban
By Masahudu Ankiilu Kunateh, Ghanadot

Accra, Oct 4, Ghanadot - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appealed the two match suspension for midfielder Rabiu Mohammed at the Fifa World Youth Championship after watching a replay of the incident.

A meeting between the Ghana FA Vice President Fred Pappoe and the management team on Saturday agreed to contest referee Ivan Bebek's 75th minute decision.

"We don't know when to expect the response from the LOC but i can tell u that we have appealed and the process is pretty fast," Pappoe told Ghanasoccernet.com.

The Croat gave Mohammed a straight red card for what he interprets as a high challenge on Aguirregaray although a video incidence proves him innocent.

Immediately after the match on Friday night, a high profile management member, furious with the 2-2 draw, told some journalists in Accra that they would not protest his ban but that has all changed.

Officials hope the player is re-instated for Tuesday’s round 16 stage opponent.

Mohammed was on target in the said match and has been a key asset for the Black Satellites at the tournament.
