Sierra Leone Calls for
Help to Quell the Rapid Spread of the Ebola Virus
Washington D.C. - Sierra Leone's Ambassador Bockari
Kortu Stevens and Leadership Africa USA have joined
forces to raise awareness on the need for all of us to
assist in efforts to eradicate the deadly Ebola Virus
from the world, which is spreading rapidly throughout
Sierra Leone and neighboring Guinea and Liberia.
The Ebola Virus has no cure, and in Sierra Leone alone
has already been responsible for 46 confirmed deaths,
with the number of infected persons quickly escalating.
As part of our outreach efforts, the government of
Sierra Leone, through its Ministry of Health and
Sanitation with a mandate to conquer the Ebola Virus, is
requesting any and all support from governments,
organizations, and individuals worldwide to help them
combat this deadly disease.
Ebola research is already underway in facilities around
the world; and accordingly, the Sierra Leone Ambassador
in Washington and his government is looking to collect
much needed medical equipment and other supplies
including medicines, antiseptics, and consumable medical
supplies. The Embassy has a complete list of Sierra

Ebola becoming
regional crisis

in West Africa is becoming a regional crisis, posing a
serious challenge to the authorities, warns children’s
charity Plan International....At least 230 people across
Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have died since the
outbreak began in March.
