 AKUFO-ADDO PICKS UP NOMINATION FORMS

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Thursday morning, arrived, unannounced, at the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party to pick up his nominations forms to contest the presidential primary of the party ahead of the 2016 elections.

Akufo-Addo's first point of call at the party’s headquarters was the treasury department, where he presented his banker’s draft of GH¢10,000.00, as payment for the nomination forms. After being handed a receipt, as proof of payment, he proceeded to the conference room to pick up his nomination forms.

He was met at the conference room by the National Chairman of the party, Paul Afoko and 2nd NPP Vice chairman, Sammy Crabbe. Akufo-Addo presented his receipt of the payment to Paul Afoko, who then went ahead to present the nomination forms to Nana Addo.

Akufo-Addo took the opportunity to assure the chairman that he was going to abide by the rules and regulations of the contest and ensure that his supporters do likewise.

Commentary, June 12, Ghanadot -  I believe the issue of corruption is complex and requires a thoughtful approach. Its implications affect millions of Ghanaians every day both directly and indirectly. Everyone knows corruption is bad, ironically, even President John D. Mahama. The solution to this canker however, is not esoteric. It requires us to realize that we are no longer in the theological state and that God would not punish the corrupt if we fail to do so.. .....More
