Ghana: Betty Laces Boots

From allAfrica

THE COMING weeks promise to be an interesting time for students and practitioners of law, as well as those interested in politics as a governance issue. Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu, the former Attorney General whose link to the GH¢51 million dole-out to Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome is likely to enrich the movie industry in Ghana very soon, says she is lacing her boots for a showdown with those behind a publication alleged to have originated from a British newspaper that had made several scandalous allegations against her.

The woman, who resigned as Minister of Education over the Woyome saga, has had her name popped up in a publication that claims that the former Ghanaian Minister has bought three houses in the United Kingdom. "This week, a British Member of Parliament will meet a cross party Parliamentary group on Africa, and ask questions about the need to continue supporting African governments, when government officials and ministers continue to steal millions of pounds to invest in properties in the United Kingdom, and most recently, Cyprus," the publication stated.

Mrs. Mould-Iddrisu told The Chronicle yesterday that the publication was false and a complete fabrication aimed at tarnishing her image......More
