President Mills denies reshuffle claims
By Awudu Salami Sule, Ghanadot

Accra, July 17, Ghanadot - President John Evans Atta Mills has dismissed media reports of an imminent ministerial reshuffle.

The Ghanaian Observer and Today Newspaper on Wednesday July 15 reported that the President will scrap the office of the presidential spokesperson with Mahama Ayariga, who is currently his spokesperson, moving to the Information Ministry.

The report further said, Dr. Ekwow Spio Garbrah, was to take over from Mohammed Mumuni as Foreign Minister.

But President Mills said those speculations are unfounded and wondered what was the source of the publications.

President Mills however told reporters in Egypt where the Non-Aligned Movement meeting is taking place on Thursday July 16 that a reshuffle will be done at his own discretion, saying he would not be pressured into reshuffling his ministers.

"I have confidence in my current ministers and I think they have so far show commitment to help me fulfill the promise I made to Ghanaians", he added.

Some of the ministers, he admitted, have taken time to get used to their portfolios, but was generally impressed with their performance so far.
