Atta Mills Urges Polling Agents to be Vigilant
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, Dec 15, Ghanadot - Professor Evans Atta Mills, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged all party polling agents to be vigilant and very observant during the run-off come December 28.

He said it will spell doom for the party when its polling agents are not watchful and more informed about the process, adding that it is eminent for them to heed to the education and training workshop organized for them during the first presidential election to ensure that they do a good job for the party.

To him this is not the time for any polling agents selected by the party to disappoint the confidence placed in them but the time for them to use their office as agents to help the party win victory, he said agents need to be disciplined and highly regimented during the voting day so that there would not be any problems with the counting process.

Professor Mills assured Ghanaians that there is no plan by his government to either abolish the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) or the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) since it a good programme by the NPP but rather then NDC will strengthen it to make it more accessible to all.

The presidential candidate of the NDC urged the Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) to commence with the programme of educating the Ghanaian populace on how to vote and the measures involved in voting so that there will free and fair polls.

He reiterated that the two bodies should ensure that Ghanaians are taken through all these necessary education so that most of the ballot papers which were wasted because people did not know how to vote not to recur.

Professor Evans Atta Mills disclosed that because he told Ghanaians of his intention of reducing petrol when he comes to power, the NPP have decided to slash petroleum products, he maintained that though the NPP government has done this, he will still reduce petrol prices as promised.

He urged all, especially NDC supporters to come out in their numbers on the 28 of December to vote massively for the party.
