DFP has made the Right Choice to go with NPP-Emmanuel Ansah-Antwi
Audrey Micah, Ghanadot

Accra, Dec 16, Ghanadot - The defeated flag bearer of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Mr. Emmanuel Ansah-Antwi has stated in an interview with Ghana Dot that the decision taken by his party to fully throw its weight behind the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in retaining the presidential seat during the December 28, 2008 presidential run-off is the best choice that will not only benefit the party but the whole nation.

According to him, the DFP took into consideration the enviable human rights record that the NPP administration has brought to the nation is a factor that led to the party supporting the ruling NPP.

He said as the DFP support and is forerunners in making sure that Ghana has a free political environment to thrive in, it was difficult for the party to have realized that the NPP is the best as compared to their mother party the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

To him, the NPP has shown beyond doubt that it can continue to protect and promote individual and group rights under any circumstances.

Mr. Ansah-Antwi was positive that under the NPP, his party would develop and grow in the direction the party had always wished; adding that there is no way the DFP can survive under the NDC, thus the best choice they have made.

He reiterated that under the administration of the NPP, Ghana has experienced an economic boom and that the better policies that the NPP government initiated over the last seven years is overwhelming thus the need for the party to win power to still continue with the good work.

The defeated candidate maintained that another factor that made the DFP form alliance with the NPP has to do the peace and tranquility that the country enjoys, adding that it is important for all Ghanaians to vote massive for the NPP if Ghanaians want to continue to live in peace and stability.

Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, campaign manager of the Nana Addo Campaign Team of the NPP has congratulated the DFP for making the right choice by joining the winning party, and called on the other smaller parties to do same to ensure victory for the NPP.

He said since every vote in this run-off of the presidential polls count, the NPP is happy that the number from the DFP side will make a difference and urged both supporters of the DFP and NPP to come out on December 28 to vote massively for the NPP.
