Baffoe XI and Yeboah XI to thrill Sekondi

Accra, Dec 20, GNA – Former internationals, Tony Baffoe and Tony Yeboah will lead a group of other renowned stars to thrill soccer fans in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis in a special charity game scheduled for the Twin City on Saturday, December, 30.

The duel dubbed Baffoe XI versus Yeboah XI is aimed at raising funds for the needy and orphans in the community.
The game is in collaboration with the national icons and the World Bank offices in Ghana.

Both parties are yet to affirm to the details of the long term plan for the competition while talks are already underway to make it an annual affair.

Baffoe told the GNA Sports that the motivation to give something back to the society is the driving force behind the program which is poised to bring together most of the current and former players of the national “Team A” side, the Black Stars.

The duo will be in action alongside some of the players who will also spend time with children and supporters who will patronize the event.

Mats Karlsson, Director of Operations of the World Bank offices in Ghana described the idea as fantastic that needs the support of all.
“It’s a great idea coming at the right time to help keep the momentum derived during Ghana’s fine performance in the Germany World Cup soccer fiesta”.

He said “many still believe the Stars were only this far from going that further and to bring most of these players together will go a long way to propel the needy message across the spectrum of society”.
