NPP’s achievements deserve return to power – Addo Kufuor
Kumasi, Dec. 21, Ghanadot/GNA – Dr Kwame Addo-Kufuor,
Minister of Interior, has asked the electorate to reflect on
the achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government
and retained it in power.
He said the party’s policy of ensuring liberty and freedom
of Ghanaians had brought about relative peace and
development.
Dr Addo-Kufuor was addressing traders at the Kumasi Central
Market on Saturday as part of the NPP campaign in the
Ashanti Region.
He gave the assurance that if the NPP was retained in power
come the December 28, 2008 presidential run-off, the party
would continue its programme of seeking the welfare of the
people to bring about peace, unity and prosperity.
The Interior Minister also assured voters of their safety
before, during and after the run-off, saying those who
wanted to foment trouble or disturb the peace would be dealt
with under the law.
Dr Addo-Kufuor urged the traders to turn up in their numbers
to vote for the NPP, which had instituted pragmatic economic
measures towards an improvement of their welfare.
“Do not listen to detractors, who want to play down the
stupendous achievements of the NPP in its eight-year rule
but vote massively for the party,” he added.
Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, MP-elect for Manhyia, denied
rumours by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that some
of their supporters were assaulted after the December 7
elections.
