Tigo donates
mathematical sets to students in deprived schools
Tema Manhean, Nov. 3, Ghanadot/GNA-
Millicom Ghana Limited, operators of Tigo Mobile Network,
had donated mathematical sets to students in more than 15
schools in deprived areas in the Tema Metropolitan, Dangme
West District and the Volta Region.
Mr. Daniel Aboagye Paddy, Tema Territory Manager of the
Company, said it procured 3,000 mathematical sets valued at
7,000 Ghana Cedis for the schools.
The company distributed 500 mathematical sets of Tema
Manhean Number one Junior High School at Tema Manhean on
Saturday.
Mr. Paddy said the programme code named "Tigo Education
Support" would be sustained to benefit a larger group.
He said the programme code named "Tigo Education Support"
would be sustained for the benefit of more schools.
He said the Company was committed to supporting the
education of poor and needy students, especially those in
its coverage areas.
Mr John Maxwell Osei, head teacher of Manhean JHS, who
received the mathematical sets on behalf of the students,
said it would enhance learning, especially of Mathematics
and Science.
He said some students lacked basic educational materials
making teaching difficult at times and appealed to
individuals and organisations to donate to the school.
