I am the "sure banker" for the
December 22 congress - Kyeremanten
Hohoe (V/R), Nov. 29, Ghanadot/GNA - Mr Alan John Kyerematen,
one of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential Aspirants
on Wednesday said he remained a political "sure banker" as
his name continued to rank high in all opinion polls
irrespective of their genuineness or otherwise.
He said he was the most marketed candidate among the 18
aspirants and called on potential delegates who will be
voting at the Party's primary to be held next month to vote
for him to enable him.
Mr Kyerematen made these remarks at Hohoe and Nsuta in the
Jasikan district of the Volta Region where he interacted
with party supporters, polling station chairpersons and
Party executive members from Hohoe-North, Hohoe-South, Buem
and North-Dayi Constituencies.
Mr Kyerematen said the criteria for electing a flag bearer
should not be dependent on how much time or resources one
expended.
Rather, it should be based on capacity to unite the rank and
file, win all sympathy and floating votes and demonstrate
competence, integrity and above all be simplistic.
Mr Kyerematen said he fills the yawning gap of an eventual
voting pattern christened "skirt-and-blouse", since he was a
perfect blend between the old guards and the youth with
proven credentials.
He said the NPP government had provided a solid foundation
for a smooth economic take-off in the last seven years and
what was left was "Alan Cash" Presidency with his penchant
to command and solicit resources towards the creation of
more jobs and more cash for the people.
He made a solemn pledge that when elected the helmsman to
lead the party, he would provide each of the 230
Constituencies countrywide with pick-ups vehicles, a bicycle
each for the 21,000 polling stations as well as pay weekly
stipend to polling station chairmen to rejuvenate the lower
structures of the
NPP.
He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) threat of
expansion of the Nsawam prison should be a wake up call to
the NPP apparatchiks to work extra hard to retain power in
the 2008 general elections.
