EBENEZER AMATEI AKUETE
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Mr. Amatei Akuete began his professional career as a
Foreign Service Officer (FSO A5) in the Ghanaian
Foreign Service in September 1961. He rose through
the ranks holding various positions and retired as
FSO A1 (formerly Principal Secretary) in September
1983 after 22 (twenty-two) years service. He was
also a Part-time Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of
Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) from
1970 to 1972.
From 1983 to 1990, Mr. Akuete established and
managed his own economic consulting firm, Bethel
Consultants Ltd., in Washington, D.C. and provided
economic development and management support services
to various clients. From 1990 to 2004, he worked for
the Washington-based consulting firm, AMEX
International, Inc. with primary responsibilities
for macro-economic and public policy analysis. He
also directed and managed all of AMEX overseas
projects.
Mr. Akuete was a Fulbright Scholar at The Johns
Hopkins University, Paul Nitze School of Advanced
International Studies (1968-1970) where he obtained
the M.A. degree in International Relations (1970).
He holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Public
Administration from the Ghana Institute of
Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), (1962)
and a B.Sc. (Honours) degree in Economics from the
University of London (1961). Mr. Akuete is fluent in
English and Spanish and has good working knowledge
of French and Portuguese.
