Accra, July 15, Ghanadot - Black Stars deputy skipper, John
Mensah has put smile on the faces of children at the Abdulam
Orphanage at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region with a hooping GHC
7,500 donation.
The donation included GHC 4,000 cash and fruit drinks,
mineral water, Milo, Milk,Key Soap, bags of rice and
biscuits.
According to John Mensah, he was touched by the plight of
the unfortunate children at the home, prompting him to go
their aid in his own small way to help them realise their
true aspirations.
John Mensah affectionately called the 'Rock of Gibraltor'
for his dependability in his defensive roles for both the
Black Stars and Olympique Lyon, described the donation as
his social responsibility towards the under-privileged in
the society.
He therefore pledged to continue assisting unfortunate
children in the society.
Receiving the items, Mr Peter Uka, Managing Director of
Abdulam Orphanage expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the
player for the gesture and called on other philanthropists
in society to emulate his shining example and come to the
aid of the children.
