Black Queens to face Senegal or Morocco in AWC qualifier

Accra, Sept. 14, Ghanadot/GNA – Ghana’s female soccer team the Black Queens have been drawn up against either Senegal or Morocco in the qualifying rounds of 7th CAF Women Championship, South Africa 2010.


The draw conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) last week will see the Queens pit their strength against the winner of the Senegal-Morocco clash for a place at the final tournament.


The Queens drew a bye at the preliminaries alongside continental champions, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Cameroon and Tunisia.


According to the information gathered by GNA Sports, the first leg is slated for May 21 to May 23, 2010 in either Dakar or Rabat with the reverse fixture coming off between June 4 and June 6, 2010.


The winner the two legged encounter will qualify for the finals to be hosted in South Africa later next year.
Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join hosts South Africa for the final tournament.


The Black Queens have participated in all six previous editions of the continental fiesta.
