Working committee of DFP in Eastern Region inaugurated

Asamankese, Nov. 19, GNA - A-17-member working committee of the Eastern Regional branch of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) to oversee the running of the party in the region until the election of substantive regional executive early next year has been inaugurated at Asamankese.

The committee is chaired by a former national executive member of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Kweku Baah.

Other members of the committee include, Nana Kwame Asiedu, Vice Chairman, Barima Yaw Osafo-Kantanka, Secretary, Mr Bismark Osei, Organiser, Madam Kande Fuseini, Women Organiser and Mr Michael Dzodzodzi, Youth Organizer.

The inauguration also coincised with the first meeting of the party's founding members in the Eastern Region to map up strategies for effective grassroots organization and mobilization of human and material resources to ensure victory for the DFP in the region in 2008.

Mr Osafo-Kantanka said the DFP had come to stay as a major political force to do battle with the two leading political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC.

He promised that the DFP had come to stay as a major political force to do battle with the two leading political parties, the New Patriot party (NPP) and the NDC.

Mr Safo-Kantanka promised that the DFP would spring a big surprise come 2008 and asked members and supporters to stand solidly behind the party.

He said the nation had a struggle to wage against hunger and ignorance and all political parties need to pool ideas on how to move the nation forward instead of being at "each others throat" on any trivial issue.
