NPP assures Ghanaians of sustained democracy

Winneba, Nov. 19, GNA - A group of staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) members including parliamentarians, at the weekend assured Ghanaians that the party would continue to promote and deepen the practice of democracy in the country.

Ghanaians should therefore disabuse their minds of some negative remarks about the party by some politicians and leaders who thought that without them the country could not be governed.

The NPP faithful were speaking at a meeting organized by leaders of the University of Education, Winneba, branch of Tertiary Education Student’s Confederation (TESCOM) of the NPP to appraise the party’s past performance and the way forward.

Mr Kenwood Nuworso, Volta Regional Chairman of the party, Mr Joe Hackman, MP for Gomoa West and Mr Samuel Okyere Sarpong, President of the UEW branch of TESCOM, were among prominent NPP activists who spoke at the meeting.

They urged Ghanaians to maintain their faith in the NPP government, saying: “The doubting Thomases who think that the NPP cannot deliver the goods will soon leave to regret.”

Mr Nuworso said the NPP had not lost focus or control over what it had set out to do for the nation and further solicited the co-operation, understanding and support of all for rapid socio-economic transformation of the nation.

He commended Mr Okyere Sarpong, and his team of executive officers for the good work they had been doing to promote the aims and objectives of the party and asked them to remain resolute in all that they did on behalf of the party to win more support.

Mr Okyere-Sarpong appealed to constituency and national leaders of the party to provide leaders at the grassroots with financial and logistics support to enhance their sensitization activities.
