The committee was made up of Chiefs and representatives of communities in the nine operational areas of Newmont , Newmont staff, Officials from the Land Valuation Board, Stool lands and the District Assembly.

Mr Barimah called on the all stake holders to cooperate with each other to come out with a reasonable and acceptable rate for all .

The General Manager In-charge of the Newmont Akyem Project, Mr Robin Budden urged all the committee members to avoid personal interest but present the views of the people they are representing during their deliberations.

He advised them to consider variety of options before them before deciding on what to do and also ensure that their decisions were based on criteria agreed upon for fairness to all.
